Forget the Drugstore, Open Your Pantry!December 05, 2017, 01:09:00 PM 0 Comments
Women everywhere know that maintaining your skin can be quite expensive and end up being completely pointless after it’s too late to return all the trendy, new products you just bought. Sometimes these beauty store and drugstore products are worth it, but when they aren’t do you know what to do? Try opening your pantry and using the natural, safe ingredients you already have to use as skin care products in the comfort of your own home.
Face masks are very popular right now, but can be quite costly after the one time you can use it and then have to throw it away. So why not make your own face mask at home? One fun idea for a face mask is to mash up a banana into a soft paste and then put it all over your face. The result is soft, moisturized skin. Another easy face mask to try uses yogurt as the main ingredient. You simply apply plain yogurt to your face after you mix it with a little juice from one slice of an orange, and a teaspoon of aloe for around 5 minutes. It will help tighten your pores and clean your skin from all of the dirt and oil it collected throughout the day.
Another home remedy you can try to make is a lip scrub. Lip scrubs are essential to exfoliating your lips to leave them smooth and rid of dry skin. One of these lip scrubs is a mixture of brown sugar, almond oil, honey, and peppermint to make a sweet smelling, hydrating mixture that will help your lips stay hydrated for up to a few days. If you can’t find any of those ingredients in your kitchen, then you can also try a lemon lip scrub. This scrub consists of lemon, raw sugar, and coconut oil. Such an easy mixture that you can make whenever your lips feel dry and cracked.
Besides face masks and lip scrubs, you can also use ingredients to simply hydrate and refresh your skin. Cucumbers are one of these simple ingredients that you can cut into slices and rub all over your face leaving it on until you wake up the next morning. Wash it off when you wake up and your skin should feel nourished and look glowing. Another produce item to try is avocado! You simply mash up an avocado and add some essential oils to gain the benefits that avocado has to offer. Avocado has vitamins A, D, and E that penetrates your skin when placed on your face. It can also help boost collagen and treat age spots over time.
Who said that breaking the bank was the only way to get clear, glowing skin? Go into your kitchen and start a new skin routine!
